Come explore the opportunities in a growing urban church! Trinity UMC KCK seeks a diverse staff to “Build a multicultural church under the power and direction of God in a diverse city!” We are expanding our ministries and seek to fill the following positions:

Choir Director (part time)

Schedule: Part-time 12 hours per week Sunday morning worship, 10:30 am (at church Sundays 8:00 am to 1 pm) Evening choir rehearsal (day/time negotiable, but historically has been Thursdays at 7 pm)

Duties: Select anthems and other special music for worship; Rehearse and lead both the vocal and bell choirs; Work with team to put together thematic connections and to plan special Sundays, Holidays, and other special events. Will need to secure an accompanist for the choir, additional compensation available for that person.

Context: Trinity is a dynamic urban church that is growing in spirit, in numbers, and in diversity. The service is a blended style featuring both contemporary and traditional music and liturgy. The choir is inter-generational. Opportunities exist, and are encouraged, to develop additional choirs including (and not limited to) children’s choir and gospel! Creativity and enthusiasm encouraged!

Core Competencies: • Strong Christian committed to multicultural ministry • Passion for music • Cross-cultural experience preferred • Highly efficient and organized team player with transparent communication • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Self Starter • KCK residency preferred but not required

Salary and Benefits • $100.00 a week • Pro-rated part time paid vacation and sick benefits • 50% off Parents Day out Preschool tuition for your children (birth-five years old)
